Story
Terri George, a native of Iowa, and husband Bryan George, native to Australia, have been involved in the sale and restoration of antiques and custom furniture for over 20 years. They have brought their experience to Dallas Center to open Board and Batten, LLC.
Board and Batten describes the typical Midwestern barn exterior that has vertical boards joined with small strips of wood, referred to as battens.
Board and Batten started out selling found, refined and curated goods. In addition, antique, primitive and vintage goods were repurposed into decorator home/design goods and were made available for purchase. Their inventory also consisted of specially selected gift items.
In 2024, Board and Batten reshaped the store into a friendly, fun gathering venue where patrons can come to sit, chat, play pool, and listen to live music. In addition, Board and Batten offers a variety of events including, but not limited to, Saturday High Tea, pool leagues, specialty events, and much more. Stop in to check out the Board and Batten Speakeasy (basement) and stay to enjoy fantastic events with family and friends!
